dc.description.abstract | "Object of the lottery was to raise funds in order to publish a work by Dr. Samuel Stearns. J.C.L. Clark thinks Stearns may have written the appeal himself. He did submit a petition to the General Assembly, Oct. 18, 1798, for the same purpose. Dr. Hyde was from Guilford."--McCorison. Apparently the works were never published. Imprint suggested by McCorison. |
