dc.description.abstract | Attributed to James Hardie by Austin. Two states noted by Edwin Wolf. In the earlier, "A list of burials" appears on a preliminary leaf pi1 and [A]1 verso is blank. In the later state, the list appears on [A]1 verso and there is no leaf pi1. Slight changes in the text were made as well. Cf. "Evidence indicating the need for some bibliographical analysis of American-printed historical works," Papers of the Bibliographical Society of America 63 (1969): 262. Page 19 misnumbered 91 in some copies. "A short account of the plague in London, 1665. (Written at that time.)"--12 p. at end. Abridged from Daniel Defoe's Journal of the plague year. |
