dc.description.abstract Verse, in six stanzas, honoring the new century. First line: Once more! Our God, vouchsafe to shine. By Samuel Sewall. His diary entry for Jan. 2, 1700/01, includes three stanzas; cf. The diary of Samuel Sewall, 1674-1729, ed. by M. Halsey Thomas (New York, 1973) v. 1, p. 440-442. Another edition has three stanzas; cf. Ford 250. Imprint from Evans, entry 1023. Evans's entry does not indicate the number of stanzas, and may refer to the three- or to the six-stanza edition. Printed area measures 27.9 x 14.5 cm.
