dc.description.abstract | In verse. Attributed to John Phillips by Evans. Ascribed to the Philadelphia press of William Bradford by Evans. However, Wilberforce Eames lists the work in "The first year of printing in New York," while stating that the evidence of its having been printed in New York is not conclusive. This may have been printed in Philadelphia just prior to Bradford's removal to New York; cf. Wegelin. Not in Wing (2nd ed.). "Proemium."--p. [3]; an acrostic on the name of Samuel Jennings, a Quaker preacher who is the "certain person" referred to in the title. |
