Abstract

Isaac Bickerstaff = Steele, Addison and others. First published as 'The tatler'. vols. 1-4 contain a reprint of 271 numbers originally published in folio three times a week from 12 April 1709 to 2 January 1710/11. Vol.5 is entitled: 'The lucubrations of Isaac Bickerstaff Esq; By W. H-n Esq; Dr. S-t, A. H-y Esq; deceased; and several other hands. ..', with the imprint: London, printed for John Morphew, 1712, and contains a reprint of 52 numbers, from 13 January 1710/11 to 19 May 1711, being the continuation of Steele's paper edited by William Harrison, assisted by Jonathan Swift.
