dc.description.abstract Signed at end: John Vicars. Thomason received his copy in November 1647. Annotation on Thomason copy: "Nou: 21 1647"; "1647". Reproduction of the original in the British Library. The preface or preamble to the Covenant -- The Covenant -- Scripture commands and encouragement to covenant-makers and keepers -- Scripture terrours and threatenings, to covenant-breakers and despisers -- The names of all the knights and burgesses in the House of Commons, in Parliament, that, at first, took the Covenant -- Two most remarkable and visible examples of Gods wrath against covenant breakers and despisers; the one divine, the other humane; both observable.
