dc.description.abstract Imprint date from Wing. On the news of the dissolution of this Parliament, the generals and commanders came to the conclusion to devote themselves solely to the defence of the country from United Provinces or other enemies. Blake on shore 'for the better recovery of his health'. This sent to Penn. Dated 22 April 1653 and signed at end by Richard Deane and George Monck, generals, and by a large number of captains -- Cf. Steele. Annotation on Thomason copy: "Aprill 27. 1653". Reproduction of the original in the British Library.
