dc.description.abstract Imprint from colophon, which reads: Here endeth the decrypcyon of Brytayne .. therfore I haue sette the desrypcyon [sic] of the same after the sayd Brytayne, which I haue taken out of Polycronycon. And by cause it is necessarye to all Englysshmen to know the propretees co[m]modytees and meruayles of them, therfore I William Caxton haue them sette fyrste in enprynte accordynge to the translac[i]on of Treuisa, whiche atte request of the lorde Barkeley translated the boke of Polycronycon in to Englysshe. Fynysshed and enprynted at Westmestre by me Wynken de worde, the yere of our lorde a. M.CCCC. and foure score and .xviij. The "Polycronicon" is by Ranulf Higden. With a title-page woodcut. Signatures: A-D⁶. Item at reel 924:4b bound with the Saint Albans chronicle, STC 9996. Reproductions of the original in the British Library. Appears at reel 13 and at reel 924 (same copy filmed twice).
