dc.description.abstract An ordinance approved by the Keeper of the Great Seal, the Lord Chief Justice of Kings Bench, and the Lord Chief Justice of the Court of Common Pleas for the registration of all publishing with the Stationers Company "to prevent the printing and publishing of treasonable, seditious, and scandalous books, .. ". Signed at end: F. North, C.S. Edm. Saunders. Fr. Pemberton. Dated at end: Tenth day of February, .. 1682 [i.e. 1683]. North was made Lord Keeper of the Great Seal, 20 Dec. 1682; Sauders was made Lord Chief Justice in Jan. 1683. Wing gives date: 1682. Imprint year probably given according to Lady Day dating; copy cataloged has torn title page affecting imprint date. Copy filmed has torn title page affecting imprint. Reproduction of the original in the British Library.
