dc.description.abstract | A relation of Benjamin Crokey's controversy with John Smyth concerning the Free Grammar School, Wotton-under-Edge. At least the Bodleian Library copy has a cancel slip pasted above the first line on A2 recto, a folding flap with added text attached at the bottom of H2 verso, and many manuscript corrections. Four hundred copies were printed; ordered burned by the Star Chamber, and Crokey and Thomas Wright, a Bristol bookseller, were fined; see S.R. Gardiner, ed., "Reports of Cases in the Courts of Star Chamber", Camden Society, 1886, pp. 37-40--STC. Place of publication and printer's name from STC. Signatures: A-H⁴.
