dc.description.abstract Translator's dedication signed: Alexia Gray. Translation of Benedict's "Regula", rephrased for the use of women. Running title reads: The rule of S. Benedict. Typographically uniform, and possibly intended to be issued, with "Statutes compyled for the better observation of the holy Rule of the most glorious Father and patriarch S. Benedict", 1632 (STC 17552); as such they would have been printed for the abbey of Benedictine nuns of the Monastery of Our Blessed Lady the Perpetual Virgin Mary in Brussels. Reproduction of the original in the British Library.
