dc.description.abstract	The Birth of Tragedy (Die Geburt der Tragödie aus dem Geiste der Musik, 1872) is a 19th Century work of philosophy by Friedrich Nietzsche. The full title translates as 'The Birth of Tragedy from the Spirit of Music'. The translator has added occasional editorial inserts to help clarify some foreign terms. Nietzsche's long paragraphs have been broken into shorter units.
