LYRICAL BALLADS William Wordsworth and Samuel Taylor Coleridge Editor's note: This is the original version of *Lyrical Ballads*, taken from the first anonymous Bristol imprint of 1798. No attempt has been made to correct the text, with the exception that the corrections indicated on the original errata slip have been made. The copy in the British Museum contains two tables of contents, one including Coleridge's "The Nightingale," while the other includes his "Lewti." Both poems appear in the book, with duplicate pagination, and this has been retained as found in the original. Pagination appears to the right of your screen; when no folio number is found at the head of a page, the corresponding page number is shown here within parentheses. Although this electronic text has been proofread, no warranty is made or implied as to its accuracy. The editor does not wish to copyright his presentation of this book, and places it in the public domain for the enjoyment of scholars a . . .
