Je te loue, o^ mon dieu! de ce
que tu m' as fait cre/ature si admirable.

{ital}Je donne ce livre pour ce qu' il vaut. C' est un fruit plein de cendre
ame\re; il est pareil aux coloquintes du de/sert qui
croissent aux endroits calcine/s et ne pre/sentent a\ la soif qu' une
plus atroce bru%lure, mais sur le sable d' or ne sont pas sans
beaute/.
Que si j' avais donne/ mon he/ros pour exemple, il faut
convenir que j' aurais bien mal re/ussi; les quelques rares qui
voulurent bien s' inte/resser a\ l' aventure de Michel, ce fut pour
le honnir de toute la force de leur bonte/. Je n' avais pas en vain
orne/ de tant de vertus Marceline; on ne pardonnait pas a\
Michel de ne pas la pre/fe/rer a\ soi.
Que si j' avais donne/ ce livre pour un acte d' accusation
contre Michel, je n . . .
