         <editorialDecl>
            <p>EEBO-TCP is a partnership between the Universities of Michigan and Oxford and the publisher ProQuest to create accurately transcribed and encoded texts based on the image sets published by ProQuest via their Early English Books Online (EEBO) database (http://eebo.chadwyck.com). The general aim of EEBO-TCP is to encode one copy (usually the first edition) of every monographic English-language title published between 1473 and 1700 available in EEBO.</p>
            <p>EEBO-TCP aimed to produce large quantities of textual data within the usual project restraints of time and funding, and therefore chose to create diplomatic transcriptions (as opposed to critical editions) with light-touch, mainly structural encoding based on the Text Encoding Initiative (http://www.tei-c.org).</p>
            <p>The EEBO-TCP project was divided into two phases. The 25,363 texts created during Phase 1 of the project have been released into the public domain as of 1 January 2015. Anyone can now take and use these texts for their own purposes, but we respectfully request that due credit and attribution is given to their original source.</p>
            <p>Users should be aware of the process of creating the TCP texts, and therefore of any assumptions that can be made about the data.</p>
            <p>Text selection was based on the New Cambridge Bibliography of English Literature (NCBEL). If an author (or for an anonymous work, the title) appears in NCBEL, then their works are eligible for inclusion. Selection was intended to range over a wide variety of subject areas, to reflect the true nature of the print record of the period. In general, first editions of a works in English were prioritized, although there are a number of works in other languages, notably Latin and Welsh, included and sometimes a second or later edition of a work was chosen if there was a compelling reason to do so.</p>
            <p>Image sets were sent to external keying companies for transcription and basic encoding. Quality assurance was then carried out by editorial teams in Oxford and Michigan. 5% (or 5 pages, whichever is the greater) of each text was proofread for accuracy and those which did not meet QA standards were returned to the keyers to be redone. After proofreading, the encoding was enhanced and/or corrected and characters marked as illegible were corrected where possible up to a limit of 100 instances per text. Any remaining illegibles were encoded as &lt;gap&gt;s. Understanding these processes should make clear that, while the overall quality of TCP data is very good, some errors will remain and some readable characters will be marked as illegible. Users should bear in mind that in all likelihood such instances will never have been looked at by a TCP editor.</p>
            <p>The texts were encoded and linked to page images in accordance with level 4 of the TEI in Libraries guidelines.</p>
            <p>Copies of the texts have been issued variously as SGML (TCP schema; ASCII text with mnemonic sdata character entities); displayable XML (TCP schema; characters represented either as UTF-8 Unicode or text strings within braces); or lossless XML (TEI P5, characters represented either as UTF-8 Unicode or TEI g elements).</p>
            <p>Keying and markup guidelines are available at the <ref target="http://www.textcreationpartnership.org/docs/.">Text Creation Partnership web site</ref>.</p>

Fox,</hi> whoſe name thou art not worthy to take into thy mouth, who is a Prophet in deed, and hath been faithful in the Lords buſineſs from the beginning: It was ſaid of Chriſt, That he was in the World, and the World was made by him; and the World knew him not: So it may be ſaid of this true Prophet, whom <hi>John</hi> ſaid, he was not; but thou wilt feel this Prophet one day as heavy as a Milſtone upon thee; and al<g ref="char:EOLhyphen"/>though the World knows him not, yet he is known.</p>
            <p>Thou ſaiſt in thy 84 <hi>page,</hi> of thy Pamphlet, that that Chriſt the <hi>Quakers</hi> are in: I that am but a man, have ſeperated their Chriſt from them; and one from another: This is fourteen years ago thou curſed them, and they are Bleſt for ever.</p>
            <p>
               <hi>An.</hi> Thoſe that went out from the Truth, were ſeparated from Chriſt, before they <hi>came to thee, and were never joyn'd to the Truth,</hi> nor owned of us, therefore ſuch may eaſily become thy Diſciples, <hi>being gone from God, his Truth, and his People;</hi> and given up to believe lies, and ſo they have found out <hi>Lodwick Muggleton</hi> the lying Prophet.</p>
            <p>Thou ſaiſt, thou haſt Power over the <hi>Quakers,</hi> Chriſt within them, and that Judgment thou haſt given upon the <hi>Quakers,</hi> will ſurely come to paſs: Neither can you, nor your Chriſt within you, deliver you from it.</p>
            <p>
               <hi>An.</hi> Thou Fool, The <hi>Quakers</hi> Chriſt within them, <hi>Is the Corner-Stone which ſhall bruiſe thee to powder;</hi> neither ſhall any deliver thee out of his hand, who is the true Light, that lightens the <hi>Gentiles,</hi> and Gods Salvation to the end of the World: but thou haſt no ſhare in theſe ſayings.</p>
            <p>Thou ſaiſt, The <hi>Quakers</hi> Principle within them, ſhall vaniſh like ſmoke.</p>
            <p>
               <hi>An.</hi> The <hi>Quakers</hi> Principle, will ſhake thy Foundation, and
<pb n="7" facs="tcp:206845:4"/> all the Foundations of Men; it is the Foundation of many Generations, <hi>and can never be moved.</hi>
            </p>
            <p>Thou ſaiſt, When I am dead, many of the ſeed of the <hi>Ser<g ref="char:EOLhyphen"/>pent</hi> ſhall have regard to my Writings, <hi>page</hi> 61.</p>
            <p>
               <hi>An.</hi> Who ſhould elſe? For thou art a Meſſenger of the Old <hi>Serpent,</hi> therefore, needs muſt his Seed have regard to thy Writings.</p>
            <p>But why doſt thou ſay, when I am dead? <hi>who is dead already unto God, but alive to Sin and Blaſphemy:</hi> but when thou art dead as thou ſaiſt, thou ſhalt be dead indeed to God, but alive to the Pain; by the Worm that ſhall never dye, and forever to be tormented: Neither ſhalt thou be able to ſhut out the ſence of the Torment, but the ſmoak of thy Torment ſhall aſcend for ever, and ever; and thy pain ſhall have no end, in the flame that cannot be quenched: And then thou ſhalt know, that thy Soul is Immortal and cannot Dye; and then thou ſhalt feel, what thou haſt done againſt God, his Truth, and his People; unto which place thou art haſtening. Now in the mean time, <hi>I Challeng thee, or any of thy Diſciples;</hi> and will maintain, that thou art an <hi>Epicure</hi> whoſe God is thy belly, and thy end ſhall be everlaſting Deſtruction from the preſence of God: <hi>The mouth of the Lord hath ſpoken it: and Repentance is hid from thy eyes.</hi> Though thou didſt tell me, that I was Damned, Body and Soul, to all Eternity; thy bleſſing and thy Curſe is all one to me: thou ſaiſt, That God is no biger than a Man; and yet <hi>Job</hi> ſaith, God is greater than Man, <hi>Job.</hi> 33. 12. And again, thou ſaiſt, That thy God is a Man, and had Arms, and Shoulders as I had; but according to <hi>Job</hi> I ſhall anſwer thee: That God is not a Man as I am, <hi>Job</hi> 9. 32. Now all may ſee, That <hi>Muggleton</hi> is a falſe Prophet: For, God himſelf ſaith, <hi>I am God and not Man the holy one in the midſt of thee,</hi> Hoſea 11. 9. And thou haſt often ſaid, <hi>That thy God is a God of Fleſh, Blood, and Bones.</hi> But Chriſt ſaith, <hi>God is a Spirit, and hath not Fleſh and Bones,</hi> John 4. 24. Cor, 2. 3, 17. Luke 24. 39.</p>
            <p>
               <hi>Come forth Robert Porter,</hi> thou ſhouldſt anſwer this Duel, for art not thou the cauſe of this quarrel, and hath opened the mouth of Gods enemies againſt the Truth and his People: but is not thy God thy Belly, as the reſt of thy lying Brethrens?
<pb n="8" facs="tcp:206845:5"/> Come forth, 'tis but fourteen dayes, and if I fall by the way, then maiſt thou ſay, <hi>the Lord never ſent me.</hi>

            <p>Come <hi>Glouceſter</hi> Profeſſors, to whom I writ a Challenge once, but none would anſwer me; come <hi>William Shepard</hi> the Lawyer, and <hi>Thomas Marriot;</hi> Come <hi>William Jordan</hi> the <hi>Presbiter,</hi> who ſaid, thou wouldſt faſt with me 39 dayes, and I could never get thee to faſt one.
