PRAYERS OF WARRE FOR THE KINGDOME, Iudgment and Iustice which God hath promised to execute under Heaven here on Earth, for to maintaine his WORD (or HOLY NAME) and to deliver his people. Against the Rage and Fury of the Horrible and pernitious Beast, which devoureth and breaketh in peeces, and stampeth the residue with its feete, blasphemeth God the Most High, and endevoreth to change Times and Lawes. Daniel. 7. Whereunto is added an earnest voyce or Letter to the late Roman Emperour.

Written and set forth first in the German Tongue by one, who through many dangers a long time undantedly hath in person denounced unto the Roman Emperour, and many Kings, Princes and States, the Iudgement of God over the world, and the deliverance of Israel, and still doth continue to admonish all people of the same.

For there is none like unto thee O Lord, thou art great, and thy Name is great, and thou canst shew it in the very Deede; who should not feare thee, O King of Nations: To thee Obedience is due, forasmuch as among all the wise men of the Nations, and in all their Kingdomes, there is none like unto thee: Thou Lord art the true God, and the living God, an everlasting King, at thy wrath the Earth trembleth, and the Nations cannot abide thine indignation. The Gods that have not made the Heavens and the Earth, even they must perish from the earth, and from under the Heavens. But thou hast made the Earth by thy power, and established the world by thy Wisedome, and hast stretched out the heavens by thine Vnderstanding, When thou utterest thy voyce, there is a multitude of Waters in the Heavens. Ier. 10.

Thou Lord most high art very terrible, a great King over all the Earth, thou reignest over the Heathen, thou sittest upon the Throne of thine Holinesse. Psal. 47.

The Heathens must despaire, the Kingdomes fall, the earth must perish when he uttereth his voyce; he that maketh Wars to cease unto the end of the Earth, that breaketh the Bow, and cutteth the speare in sunder; that burneth the Chariot in the Fire. Psal. 46.

Thou breakest the ships of Tharsis with an East winde; as wee have heard so have wee seene in the Citty of the Lord of Hosts, in the City of our God: God will establish it for ever, Selah. God we waite for thy loving kindnesse in thy Temple. [Page] According to thy Name, O God, so is thy praise unto the ends of the Earth. Thy Right-hand is full of Righteousnesse, Psal 48.

Let the Heavens rejoyce, and let the Earth be glad, let the Sea roare and the fulnesse thereof, let the Field be joyfull and all that is therein, and let all the Trees of the Wood rejoyce before the Lord, for hee commeth, hee commeth to Iudge the earth; he shall Iudge the World with righteousnesse, and the People with his Truth. Psal. 96.

Hee bowed the Heavens and came downe, and darkenesse was under his feete. Psal. 18.

A fire goeth before him and burneth up his Enemies round about; his Lightning enlightens the World; the Earth seeth it and trembleth, the Hills melt like waxe at the presence of the Lord, at the Presence of the Lord of the whole Earth. In Salem is his Tabernacle, and his dwelling place in Sion: there breaketh he the Arrowes of the Bow, the shield and the Sword and the Battell, Sela. Thou art more glorious and excellent then the Mountaines of prey, the stout harted must bee spoyled, and sleepe their sleepe, and the Warrious must let their hands sinck, at thy rebuke O God of Iacob, both the chariot and the horse are cast into a dead sleepe; Thou, even thou art to bee feared, and who may stand in thy sight when once thou art angry, when thou causest the Iudgement to bee heard from Heaven then the Earth feareth and is still, Psalme 76.

For, thou O Lord art a Iealous God, and a Revenger, yea a revenger is the Lord and furious; The Lord will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his Enemies, Nahum. 1.

Thou coverest thy selfe with Light, thou stretchest out the [Page] Heavens like a Curtaine, thou layest the beames of thy chambers in the Waters, thou makest the clouds thy Charet, thou walkest upon the wings of the Winde. Psalm. 104.

Thou art the Lord, Whose wayes are in the whirle-winde and in the storme, and the clouds are the dust of thy feet; thou that rebukest the Sea and makest it dry, and dryest up all the Rivers: the Mountaines quake at Thee, and the Hills melt: the Earth quaketh at thy presence, yea the world and all that dwell therein; who can stand before thine Indignation, and who can abide in the fiercenesse of thine anger; thy furie burneth like fire, and the Rocks are throwne downe by him. Nehemiah. 1.

Thou lookest on the Earth and it trembleth, thou touchest the Hills and they smoake: the earth trembleth and is moved, and the foundations of the Mountaines are moved and doe tremble, when thou art angrie. Psal. 104.

Smoake goeth up out of thy Nostrills, and a consuming fire out of thy Mouth, whereby coales are kindled: thy Pavillion round about thee is darke, and darke thick cloudes wherein thou art hidden: at the brightnesse before Thee the Clouds passe with Haile and lightnings, and the Lord thundred in the Heavens, and the highest gave his voice with Haile and coales of fire: He sent out his arrowes and scattered them, he short out lightnings and discomfited them. Psal. 18.

Who is so great a God as Thou O God, thou art the God that doest wonders; thou hast declared thy strength amongst the People; thou hast powerfully redeemed thy people, the sonnes of Iacob, and Ioseph Sela. The waters saw Thee, O God, the water saw thee and were afraid, the depths were troubled, the thick cloudes powred out Water, the clouds did thunder, and thy arrowes went abroad: thy lightnings lightned the world, and the Earth trembled and shooke. Psal. 77.

Great is our Lord, and of great Power, his vnderstanding is infinite. Psal. 147.

Whatsoever he pleaseth that he doth in Heaven and in [Page] Earth, in the seas and in all deepe places, that causeth the Vapours (and cloudes) to ascend from the endes of the Earth, that maketh lightnings to raine, that bringeth the windes out of his Treasures. Psal. 135.

Who covereth the Heavens with cloudes, who prepareth raine for the Earth, who maketh grasse to grow upon the Mountaines: he giveth Snow like wooll, he scattereth the Hoare frost like ashes; He casteth forth his Ice like morsels; who can stand before his Cold? He sendeth out his word and melteth them, He causeth his Winde to blow and it thawes, Psal. 147.
