          Gal. 3. 20. Cursed is every one that continues not in all things that are written in the book of the Law to doe them. Deut. 27. 26. Cursed is he that establisheth not the words of this Law to doe them.
          Law threatens death, and the curse to the transgressour.

          Rom. 3. 19. What things the Law saith, it saith to them who are under the Law. Rom. 7. 1. The Law hath dominion over a man that is under it. 1 Tim. 1. 9. The Law is not made for a righteous man, that is, in its exacting and condemning power, but for the lawlesse.

          Rom. 8. 33, 34. It is God that justifyeth, who is he that condemneth? Rom. 5. 1 It is Christ that dyed, yea rather that is risen again, &c.
          God, whereby hee
          2 Cor. 5. 19, 20. God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them, that is, not laying them to their charge, but charging Christ with them. Ver. 21. For hee made him sin for us, that wee might bee made the righteousnesse of God in him, that is, God laid upon Christ the sins of the beleever.
          impu­ting the sinnes of a beleever to Christ, and Christs righteous­nesse unto him, he freely
          Isa. 53. 6. And puts Iesus Christs righteousnesse upon him. Phil. 3. 9. Not having mine own righteousnesse but the righteousnesse which is of God by faith, that I might be found in him.

            Rom. 3. 22. The righteousnesse of God is by faith of Iesus Christ unto all, and upon all that doe beleeve, that is, the righteousnesse whereby I stand perfectly righte­ous before God, is mine through Faith.

In the Gospel is the righteousnesse of God revealed from faith to fai [...] the just shall live by faith, that is, Faith is the instrument by which I apprehen [...] the righteousnesse of Christ to be mine.             right use of the seales of the Covenant of Grace, Which are
            • 1 Baptisme,
              Heb. 6. 1. The Doctrine of Baptismes, i. e. the third principle following after Repentance and Faith. Tit. 3 5. By the washing of regeneration, that is, by the holy Ghost purging the soule from guilt, and defilement of sin, in the new birth, and re­newing it after the Image of God, all signified in Baptisme. 1 Pet. 3. 20. Baptisme doth now save us, not the externall washing with water, but the internall Baptisme of the Spirit.
              wherein by the washing the body with water, is sealed to the Beleever his new birth, his ingraffing into Christ, his entrance into the Covenant of grace.

              They Gen. 17. 7. To be a God to thee and to thy seed after thee, that is, to thy chil­dren. Act. 2. 38, 39. Repent and be Baptized, &c. For the promise is to you and to your children. are to receive this seale who are in Cove­nant with God, as those that are converted to the faith of Christ, and their children are.

              1 Cor. 11. 23, 24, 25. Take, eate, this is my body which is broken for you: This cup is the New Testament in my blood▪ this doe in remembrance of me. Mat. 26. 26, 27, 28. 1 Cor. 10. 16. The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ, &c. Joh. 6. 51. If any man eat of this bread hee shall live for ever.

              They 1 Cor. 11. 23. Let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread in the Lords Supper. are to partake of this seale who are worthy, i. e. fitly prepared and doe examine themselves.

            Jude 20. Praying in the holy Ghost, by the help and assistance of the holy Ghost.
            prayer of Faith.

            Prayer is the Psal. 25. 1. I lift up my soule, that is, my desires, unto thee. lifting up the desires of the renewed heart Phil. 4. 6. In every thing, by prayer let your request be made known to God. unto God for all good things, 1 Joh. 5 14. If we ask any thing according to his will he heareth us. according to his will, Joh. 16. 23. Whatsoever ye shal [...] ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. Joh. 14 13. In my name, that is, in and through the mediation of Jesus Christ. in the name of Jesus Christ, Rom. 8 26. The Spirit it self makes intercession for us with groanings that cannot be uttered. Jude 20 by the help of the Spirit of Grace, Mark. 11. 24. What things ye desire, when ye pray, beleeve that ye shall receive them, and ye shall have them. Luk. 11. 2. Jesus Christ taught his disciples to pray, saying, Our Father, &c. with confidence to bee heard.

        • 2 2 I am
          2 Thess. 2. 13. Through sanctification of the spirit, and beleife of the Truth.
          through the Spirit of Christ sanctified.

          Sanctification is the Joh. 15. 5. He that abideth in me and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit. work of Christ Col. 3. 10. Put on the new man which is renewed in knowledge Ephes. 4. 23, 24. The new man which after God is created in righteousnesse and holinesse, re­newing the whole man unto holinesse, and righ­teousnesse by his holy Spirit, that Phil. 1. 11. Filled with the fruits of righteousnesse, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God. I may bring forth fruit unto God.

          In this are foure things,

          • 1 That I am
            Ephes. 4. 22 The old man is corrupt according to the deceitfull lusts. Tit. 1. 15 Ʋnto them that are defiled nothing is pure, but even their minde and conscience is de­filed.
            by nature altogether im­pure, having my minde and conscience de­filed with sin.
          • 2 I am
            Joh. 3. 5. Except a man be born of Water, and of the holy Spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdome of God. Rom. 12 2 Be ye transformed by the renewing of your minde.
            through the Spirit of Christ re­newed in the spirit of my minde to righ­teousnesse and holinesse.
          • 3 There
            Rom. 6. 3 We who were baptized into Jesus Christ, were baptized into his death. & 6 6. Our old man, that is, our corrupt nature, is crucified with Christ. Gal. 2. 20. I am crucified with Christ.
            is wrought in my heart by the holy Spirit,
            • 1 A dying unto sin, by the death of Jesus Christ.
            • 2 A
              Rom. 6. 4. As Christ was raised up from the dead, so we also should walk in newnesse of life. Col. 3. 1. Ye are risen with Christ. Rom. 8. 11. He that raised up Christ from the dead, shall also quicken your mortall bodies, &c.

            • 1 Repentance,
              2 Cor. 7. 10, 11. The sorrow according to God doth work a change in the minde unto salvation.

              Jer. 31. 18, 19. After I was turned I repented, after I was in­structed I smote on my thigh, I was ashamed, &c.

              Zach. 12. 10. They shall look up­on me (saith the Lord Jesus) whom they, that is, the Jews, have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, that is, for their sin against Christ.
