         </projectDesc>
         <editorialDecl>
            <p>EEBO-TCP is a partnership between the Universities of Michigan and Oxford and the publisher ProQuest to create accurately transcribed and encoded texts based on the image sets published by ProQuest via their Early English Books Online (EEBO) database (http://eebo.chadwyck.com). The general aim of EEBO-TCP is to encode one copy (usually the first edition) of every monographic English-language title published between 1473 and 1700 available in EEBO.</p>
            <p>EEBO-TCP aimed to produce large quantities of textual data within the usual project restraints of time and funding, and therefore chose to create diplomatic transcriptions (as opposed to critical editions) with light-touch, mainly structural encoding based on the Text Encoding Initiative (http://www.tei-c.org).</p>
            <p>The EEBO-TCP project was divided into two phases. The 25,363 texts created during Phase 1 of the project have been released into the public domain as of 1 January 2015. Anyone can now take and use these texts for their own purposes, but we respectfully request that due credit and attribution is given to their original source.</p>
            <p>Users should be aware of the process of creating the TCP texts, and therefore of any assumptions that can be made about the data.</p>
            <p>Text selection was based on the New Cambridge Bibliography of English Literature (NCBEL). If an author (or for an anonymous work, the title) appears in NCBEL, then their works are eligible for inclusion. Selection was intended to range over a wide variety of subject areas, to reflect the true nature of the print record of the period. In general, first editions of a works in English were prioritized, although there are a number of works in other languages, notably Latin and Welsh, included and sometimes a second or later edition of a work was chosen if there was a compelling reason to do so.</p>
            <p>Image sets were sent to external keying companies for transcription and basic encoding. Quality assurance was then carried out by editorial teams in Oxford and Michigan. 5% (or 5 pages, whichever is the greater) of each text was proofread for accuracy and those which did not meet QA standards were returned to the keyers to be redone. After proofreading, the encoding was enhanced and/or corrected and characters marked as illegible were corrected where possible up to a limit of 100 instances per text. Any remaining illegibles were encoded as &lt;gap&gt;s. Understanding these processes should make clear that, while the overall quality of TCP data is very good, some errors will remain and some readable characters will be marked as illegible. Users should bear in mind that in all likelihood such instances will never have been looked at by a TCP editor.</p>
            <p>The texts were encoded and linked to page images in accordance with level 4 of the TEI in Libraries guidelines.</p>
            <p>Copies of the texts have been issued variously as SGML (TCP schema; ASCII text with mnemonic sdata character entities); displayable XML (TCP schema; characters represented either as UTF-8 Unicode or text strings within braces); or lossless XML (TEI P5, characters represented either as UTF-8 Unicode or TEI g elements).</p>
            <p>Keying and markup guidelines are available at the <ref target="http://www.textcreationpartnership.org/docs/.">Text Creation Partnership web site</ref>.</p>

For no otherwayes can you ever come to witneſs Peace with him, but through Hearkening unto his Voice, and faith<g ref="char:EOLhyphen"/>fully Obeying the ſame. And thus you will come to be Children of Faithful <hi>Abraham,</hi> who was ready to offer up his only Son <hi>Iſaac</hi> at Gods Call, not ſtaggering at the Promiſe, but firmly believing him that had promiſed, whoſe Faith was accounted unto him for Righteouſneſs.</p>
            <p>Let none therefore have an Heart of Unbelief, and diſtruſt the Lord, and ſay, <hi>Can the Lord furniſh a Table in the Wilderneſs? Can he prepare Bread there?</hi> Nor let any think the Time Long, or the Way Tedious, wherein the Lord leads you; <hi>For he that believeth maketh not Haſte.</hi> But let your Eye be unto him alone, who turneth the Rock into a Standing Water, and the Flint into a Foun<g ref="char:EOLhyphen"/>tain of Waters; who will give Bread to the Hungry, and Water to the Thirſty Souls in his due Time. For there was a time, when the Lord Proved and Tryed <hi>Iſ<g ref="char:EOLhyphen"/>rael</hi> of Old; who will alſo Prove and Try you. There<g ref="char:EOLhyphen"/>fore take heed, that you Murmur not under the ſame, leſt, like <hi>Iſrael,</hi> you Grieve the Lord, and he cauſe you to fall ſhort of the <hi>Promiſed Land.</hi> For you muſt not ex<g ref="char:EOLhyphen"/>pect, becauſe you are come out of <hi>Egypt,</hi> and have ſeen the Wonders of the Lord in the Deep, and have ſung the Song of <hi>Moſes,</hi> that all is over: For there is a Wil<g ref="char:EOLhyphen"/>derneſs yet to paſs through, and a Swelling <hi>Jordan</hi> to paſs over, before you will come to the Promiſed Land. I write not this to diſcourage any, but that none might take up a falſe Reſt, or ſit down by the way, and ſo fall

            <p>And be ſure, that no <hi>Singularity</hi> be embraced or walked in by you; for that will lead to make Rents and Diviſi<g ref="char:EOLhyphen"/>ons in the Camp of the Lord, as ſome of that Spirit in dayes paſt did, who ſaid, <hi>Hath the Lord only ſpoke by</hi> Mo<g ref="char:EOLhyphen"/>ſes? <hi>You</hi> Moſes <hi>and</hi> Aaron, <hi>you take too much upon you; for the Congregation is all Holy, and the Lord is among them. The Earth opened, and ſwallowed them up in the ſight of the People:</hi> And the Earthly Part hath ſwallowed and will ſwallow up all ſuch Oppoſers. Wherefore let all be Warned of theſe things, and Watch againſt them in the Light, which diſcovers the Wiles of the E<g ref="char:EOLhyphen"/>nemy: and take heed, leſt any of you alſo ſhould come to be led away with the Error of the Wicked, and ſo fall from your own Stedfaſtneſs, and there by come to loſe that Simplicity in the Truth which you once enjoyed. For all theſe things were written for your Lear<g ref="char:EOLhyphen"/>ning, and your Inſtruction, that ye might not Tempt and Provoke the Lord, as they did, with whom the Lord was grieved Forty Years long, ſo that he ſware in his Wrath, <hi>That they ſhould not enter into his Reſt.</hi>

            <p>Wherefore, <hi>Dear Hearts,</hi> Put on the whole Armour of Light, and in that Light which convinced you all, walk and dwell, and it will bring you unto the perfect Day, in which is no Darkneſs; and thus you will be Witneſſes of the <hi>Juſt Man's Path, which is as a ſhining Light, which ſhines more and more unto the perfect Day.</hi> So all that come to walk in this Light, will ſee more Light, as one did who ſaid,

            <p>And hither muſt all the <hi>Nations</hi> come, that are ſa<g ref="char:EOLhyphen"/>ved to walk in the Light, which the Lord will ſend forth more and more, that thoſe who are yet under the Region and Shadow of Death, may come to behold it, and the Glory and Excellency that is in it, which is the <hi>Glory, as of the Only Begotten of the Father, full of Grace and Truth,</hi> which a <hi>Remnant</hi> are come to behold, Glory to God on high for evermore! <p>And ſo, <hi>Dear Tender-Hearted Ones,</hi> Keep low in the Holy Truth of God, and that will be your Crown; for true and deep Humility is Real Chriſtianity. For while ye are Meek and Lowly in Heart, ye will bear in your Bodies the Marks of the Lord <hi>Jeſus,</hi> and then will it be ſeen, whoſe Diſciples ye are. And while the meek Spirit of <hi>Jeſus</hi> bears Rule in you, that will keep down all Haſtineſs, and Raſh and Unadviſed Words, which you are to dye daily unto, who would live with Chriſt for ever. Who when he was reviled, reviled not again, but when buffeted, ſaid, <hi>Father, forgive them.</hi> Thus we are to have Chriſt for our Example; who dyed, that we ſhould no more live unto our ſelves, but unto him that dyed for us, leaving us an Example, that we ſhould follow his Steps, in whom was no Sin, neither was Guile found in his Mouth.
