Stephan Pecok, Nycolas lambert, shir. ¶In this yere the Cytye of Rome, by the viceroy of Naples, and the duke of Burbone, the same duke beynge fyrste kylled, was taken / and almost destroyed: and Clemens the .vii. than bysshop of Rome, and dyuers of the cardynals there found, wer taken and broughte in to captyuytye, and vnder the rule of Charles the emperour. ¶This yere corne began to fayle. And the cardynall went in to Fraunce with great pompe, there he cōcluded a leage bytwene the king & the frenche king, which both defyed themperour, & sēt one army into Italye / & in septēbre he returned. In Iune was the bysshop of Rochestre, & syr Tho. Moore beheded for denying the king to be supreme heed of ye church of Englande. And this yere were .iii. monkes of ye charterhouse executed for ye same offēce.
