Where it is ordeined and prouided by a statute made & established in the Par­liament holden at Westminster the viii. day of Iune, in the xxviii. yeere of the Reigne of the Queenes Maiesties dearely beloued father of famous memorie Ring Henry the eight, that the prices of all kind of wines, (that is to say) of the Tunne, Butte, Pipe, Punchion, Hogshed, Tyrse, Barrell, Rundset, when it shoulde be solde in grosse, should be limitted and declared by the Lorde Chauncelor of England, Lord Treasourer of England, Lord President of the said Kings most honorable Counsell, Lord priurie Seale, and the two chiefe Iustices of either Bench, or fiue, foure, or three of them: [...] that the same should be solde according to the same prices so by them set and taxed upon paine and pe­ [...] conteined in the saide Acte: Forasmuch as the Lord Keeper of the great Seale of England, the [...] of England, and the two Lord chiefe Iustices for diuers considerations them moouing, [...] according to the effect and meaning of the saide Statute and Acte, have in writing by their delibe­ [...] ad [...]ts, vpon conference had with sundry persons thereto requisite, texed, limitted, assigned and ap­ [...]ted the prices of Gascoigne and french Wines to be sold within this her Highnesse Realme (for this yeere following:) that is to say, euery Tunne of the best Gascoigne and french Mines to be solde (the sel­ [...] bearing all the charges due and payable to her Maiestie in her Custome house) after the price and rate [...] [...]iii.s.iiii.d sterling and not aboue: (the buyer bearing all the said charges) after the price and rate [...] sterling the Tunne, and not aboue. And every Pipe, Hogshed, Tyerse, Barrell, Rundlet, and other [...] of the same seuerall Mines to be solde in grosse after their quantities according to the same rates, [...] not aboue. And euery Tunne of Rochel and other small and thinne Wines to be sold (the seller bea­ring all charges due and payable to her Maiestie in her Custome house) after the price and rate of nine Pounds thirteene shillings foure pence sterling the Tunne, and not aboue: and the buyer bearing the said charges at vii. li. sterling the Tunne, and not aboue: and every Pipe, Hogshed, Tyerse, Barrell, Rundlet [...] other vessels of the same seuerall wines, to be sold in grosse after their quantities according to the same [...] and not aboue. The Queenes most excellent Maiestie therefore straightly chargeth and comman­ [...]eth all and singuler her louing Subiects and others, putting any maner Gascoigne, Frenche, Rochel, or [...] small or thinne wines to sale within this her highnes Realme, that they, ne any of them in any man­ner of wise by any crast, couin, or priuate agreement shall sell any Gascoigne, French, Rochel or other small [...] then wines, otherwise then is aboue limitted upon paine to forfeit and pay such penalties, as be conteined [...] expressed in the said Statute, or in any other Statute made or ordeyned for the same. And moreouer▪ [...]er Highnesse pleasure and commandement is, that all and singuler Maiors, Sheriffes, Bayliffes, Con­ [...]bles, and other Officers to whom it apperteineth, that they, and euery of them with diligence, cause and [...] that this her Proclamation be put in due execution after the tenure of the same: And also according to an other Act of Parliament established in the Parliament aboue rehearsed against such as will refuse to [...]ell their wines at prices taxed as is aforesaid, as they will answere thereto at their perils.
