<uTuesday 16 October 1877.>u  Morning went out and picked flowers there are very few left.  Afternoon houses are not sta
nding built one I hop it will be        standing tomorrow.  Evening read the town crier finished it.  Wrote to billy.
Lessons got on very well indeed.

rink met with some very nice girls made friends with them and had great fun     played at trains Maurice tore my dress t

topped at home.  Afternoon went to the  dancing lesson liked it very much got on very well.  It rained furiously and
was very windy and very cold.  Mamy whitenened the courts in all the rain.      Lessons went on pretty well.

ime.  Afternoon went into the town to   buy a fishing line we went on the pier the pier keeper showed us a man fishing
and he gave us some bait and the pier keeper caught us one fish and Maurice     caught two and the man fishing caught tw
o.
<uSaturday 13 October 1877.>u  Morning.  Went out.  Afternoon went to tea with  the Burgesses had great fun saw a duary(
?dairy) plaed at lots of things walked  back in the black it was great funn all the lamps were lit.  Lessons went on
pretty well but my division by 12 went on very badly we had a pen though we did not deserve as much.  Yesterday I played
 at dominoes with Papa.

on.  Afternoon went to the rink had great fun but met no one it was very wet    Maurice tumbled a great deal.  Evening p
layed at dominoes with papa he beat me.  Lessons went on pretty well sewing went on very badly got *5 for conduct.

th see 9th)  Morning stopped at home.   Afternoon went to the sands houses still standing five days slid down the
forbidden slide took off shoes and stockings for the last time.  Lessons were   very amusing got on very well.

<uWednesday 17 October 1877.>u  Morning stoped at home.  Afternoon went to the  sands my house that I built yesterday is
 still standing.  Sophie and Grandmama  came before tea.  After tea Sophie and Papa and me played dominoes.  I beat
then we played at muggins Papa beat I was second.  Maurice and Grandmama and    Mama played at race.  Lessons went on ve
ry well.  Papa gave us two pennys.
<uThursday 18 October 1877.>u  Morning stopped at home.  Afternoon went to the  dancing lessons it was geart fun.  I got
 on a great deal better.  Papa and Mamy and Sophie and Grandmama have gone to Rounton to stay all night.  We had rather
a nice evening with Nucie and the maids.  Lessons went a rather well.

Rounton.  Afternoon stopped at home and played with the pawns it's such fun but after when we had finished Mamy counted
them we found one was missing but we    found it.  Mr X Webb to come.  We sung Nacy Lee and the ...  Graves to Sophie
and played at .......
                                        <uSaturday 20 October 1877.>u  Morning went out and gardined.  Afternoon went
to the rink with Sophie X when we were tired of skating with one skate.  Ater   tea I played at cribbage with Papa I bea
t at two games and he beat me at two    games.  Lessons went on well. I had two pennys.  .......... came to see us.

............. the library.  I sat out   this afternoon blew soap bubbles with Sophie.  Evening played at ......... We
played at birds by taking two fans in either hand.

Afternoon tryed to make some toffee but it was a failure and went out it was    very wet but we went out between the sho
wers.  Lessons went on pretty well.  We were to have had some actting but Mamy was to tired and Papa was tired so we may
do it tomorrow.

we went out between the showers.  The Vickers have come I was to have gone to   meet them but it to raining even Mamy co
uld not go.  Evening we played at race  Edie won and at proverbs.  We do not have ..... actting.  Maurice lost his
boat.

sands with Edith I made a shop and sold tarts of sand.  Lesssons went on pretty well.  Evening. I made some baskets of p

sands and built houses my house is still standing.  I played with it.  Evening  played at draughts with Papa and beat hi
m.  Lessons went on very well.

home.  Afternoon stopped at home and    made cloths for my little doll.  Evening Miss Helug read to us and played at
draughts  I beat her once and she beat me once.  Edith went away.  Lessons went on very well indeed got only two 4s 5 fo
r conduct and order.
<uTuesday 30 October 1877.>u  Morning went out.  Afternoon went out Maurice     bought a boat .....   a very nice one.
We got an invitation to have tea ion    the kitchen and we have to go to the Burgess's to practice our dancing on
Wednesday.  Evening read.  Lessons went on pretty well.  It is very windy.      There the wind roaring.

d tea thire.  We had some .......nuts   for the first time and liked them.  Evening Miss Klug read to us for five
minutes.

Mammy came we could not go to the dancing lesson because Miss Wetherell is ill  Mammy went to the sands with us both my
houses are standing.  Evening Papa gave me a printing press and Maurice a cannon Mammy gave me a weather flower and
Maurice a funny picture book while Papa was dressing he gave me a pretty book.

 Papa let off crackers and Maurice      cannon and we ran about with blue lights.  I had three pence.

we had some chocatale.

<uMonday 5 November 1877.>u  Morning put away the stares.  Afternoon watched    Gillingham.  Evening went to see the bon
fire in the cricket field and Papa firedoff rockets we had great fun.  I got a letter from Billy.  Nucie is gone to
Middlesbro and Mamy undressed Maurice.  Lessons went on very well.

rained very much  I made a pen wiper for Nucie and a very little one for me.    Evening wrote to Billy  Mammy read to us
 a very amusing book called The little  savage.  Lessons went on very well.

stopped at home.  Afternoon went to the Burgess's to practise dancing Maurice caught a fish.  Capt Burgess talked very
funny french.  Lessons went on very well.

got on very well indeed.  I liked it so much Maurice danced so funnily.         Evening Mammy read to us.  Lessons went
on very well.  Mopsins had a fit we     despaired of his life.

t out the kitten was lost but we found  it again.  Afternoon went to the sands.  We very nearly lost our spades we
built such beautiful fortresses.  Evening we acted what we are going to do on   monday.  Papa is at a meeting it is a su

y read to Maurice  I played at          draughts.  I beat him in one and he beat in on we played at dominoes.

surprised we had the maypole the farmer the miller and Much ado about nothing.  Lessons went on very well.  We had sixpe

room and lined it with tiles.           Gillingham was so cross.  Evening we dancing with Papa.  Mammy read us.

                                        <uMonday 31 December 1877.>u  Morning went out went to see the pond took Iver
with us.  Afternoon stopped at home I began to make a chest of drawers.         Evening first we saw some fireworks at t
he end we had some beautiful rockets    that went of in different coloured sp]arks.  We are going to stay up to see a
rehearsal of the play.  This has been a happy year many things have happened.   I have got many knew cousins Billy and G
erald little Arthur Godman and lost one poor Kitty.
